Haaaapppy Friday, friends! I can’t believe it’s already the weekend! Weekends for me mean junkin’ and pickin’. It’s pretty much my favorite weekend past time. One of my favorite places to look for treasures is at the flea market. There are so many hidden gems there if you just keep your eyes open and allow yourself to see the potential in dirty, rusty, and chippy pieces. One piece that could have been easily overlooked is this very dirty and beat up old table. I actually think I did pass it by a couple of times while searching for a coffee table for my living room. After having zero luck, I decided to think outside the box and pick up this beauty. I’m so glad I did. It has become my favorite flea market find.
Vintage Farmhouse Coffee Table
I loved the colors of the two toned chippy paint. I also loved the size of it. My living room is pretty large so I knew I needed a large table to fill the space. I even loved the very rugged top. The only problem was the height. That my friends was an easy fix. I brought it home and cut the legs down to a coffee table height (16-18 inches). I also sanded the top (believe it or not).
Here is how it looks in my living room. The colors and size were perfect. It is by far my favorite flea market find! Here are some other reason I love and prefer rustic furniture.
- No cleaning involved (just wiping)
- No kid’s drink watermarks to worry about
- Less stress of keeping it nice and perfect because it is already so imperfect
- It’s usually pretty inexpensive to find
- You have an instant on-of-a-kind piece
I do know that this is not everyone’s cup of tea and that’s okay. Whatever your style may be, I just want you to remember to keep your eyes open and see the potential in a piece of furniture, especially in tables. If you can’t find that perfect coffee table, remember, you can alway cut a table’s legs down for an instant coffee table.
So there you have it. That is my little story of how I found my coffee table. It has seriously become my favorite flea market find and the piece I get the most questions about. It makes me happy that so many of you love it as much as I do. As always, thanks so much for stopping by and have a lovely weekend! Go find some treasure for me!
