Who else is so excited for Thanksgiving? I can already smell the turkey! This year, I am especially excited because we are hosting Thanksgiving for our family, so I have been daydreaming about what my Thanksgiving tablescape should look like. I wanted to give it an elegant yet simple look with black, white, and brass touches. The first thing that came to mind was MacKenzie-Childs Courtly Check pattern, and I knew that was exactly what my Thanksgiving tablescape needed. Today, I am so excited to share with you how I am using MacKenzie-Childs dishes, pumpkins, and wreath to style my kitchen eating area and give you some simple ideas that you can use when planning your own holiday party tablescape!
Thanksgiving Tablescape
After months of visualizing what I wanted my table to look like for my Thanksgiving dinner party, this is how it turned out!! My black, white, and brass vision came to life with a mix of MacKenzie-Childs Courtly Check dishes, pumpkins, and brass candlesticks. So, let me break it down for you and show you how simple this was to put together!
I started with the table centerpiece. This Courtly Harlequin Pumpkin came to mind when I thought of a fun way to bring in a fall theme along with all of my colors. This pumpkin is a showstopper all by itself! It’s playful pattern and gold stem make for the most beautiful way to center a tablescape.
I paired it with a simple basketweave charger and these beautiful Courtley Check dinner and salad plates. My favorite part of these dishes just might be the gold rim around each one. I love these dishes because the pattern speaks for itself and looks so beautiful dressed down for a summer picnic in the park or dressed up for a Thanksgiving tablescape. They literally can be used all year round and make a gorgeous statement no matter how they are used!
On either side of the centerpiece, I placed a set of brass candlesticks and mixed in this mini courtly harlequin pumpkin and this pretty ivory autumn harvest pumpkin. I just love the color combination and how the ivory pumpkin breaks up the pattern a bit with still adding that black and white touch.
I finished off the look by adding a faux and dried foliage table runner using dried eucalyptus and some cream Heather bush to lighten it up.
My open wood shelves needed some love and a touch of fall to them too. To tie them into my table setting, I added another medium Courtly harlequin pumpkin and this fun beaded check pumpkin. I seriously can’t get enough of these pumpkins!! I can’t decide which one is my favorite. What do you think?? The last touch that I added to my shelves where these Courtley Check enamel mugs. These will be perfect for coffee or hot cocoa after our holiday dinner.

- Use two types of greenery down the center of the table to create a focal point
- Add height by using candlesticks in a variation of heights
- Layer a small and large plate to create a foundation for your place setting
- Add a basketweave or other material charger to give your table setting some texture
Last but not least, I finished off the look with the most stunning fall wreath that I have ever seen. This autumn naturals wreath has a mix of everlasting gourds, leaves, hydrangeas, and berries, with accents of the Courtly Check sinamay ribbon throughout.
