My daughter’s teen boho room makeover is officially done, and I can’t wait to share with you all the details! Let me begin with saying she loved her old room and was so sad to see it go, but she was wanting to move passed with pastels and do a more mature look. She will officially be a teen very soon so it was the perfect time to give her a comfortable space to hang out in. We sat down and planned 3 room design boards with her favorite wallpaper options, rug, and pretty velvet beds. In the end, she chose to do a boho inspired room. I can’t wait to share with you the reveal of her teen girl boho room and all the details on how we pulled this fun and chic look together.
Wallpaper Details
Bed Details
She knew she wanted a beautiful velvet bed. We found so many great options at HomeThreads but went with this white velvet wingback bed in a queen. This bed is stunning and is the star of the room! It is so high quality and was easy to put together. You can see all a few more of my daughter’s favorite beds HERE.
For bedding, we chose Beddy’s of course!! Beddy’s is our go-to bedding, so we knew it would be the perfect addition to her bed. This white Beddy’s and duvet are called Charleston Luxe Beddy’s. I paired with this beautiful green blanket and pillows called the Remington Luxe. I also used the James throw at the foot of her bed to add some extra layers and texture. I found this mushroom pillow at TJ Max and thought it was such a fun touch that also pulled all the green accessories together.
Instead of using lamps on her night stands, we decided to add rattan hanging lights on each side of the bed. Since her room isn’t wired for these, we are using rechargeable light bulbs that work so well. I love the scalloped detail and they fit perfectly with the boho design. I also mixed and matched some wall baskets to add depth and texture to the wall.
Pink and White Checkered Rug Details
One element that was part of all of our room designs is this pink and white shag rug. I love the bold design and we thought it would be fun to mix it with the wallpaper pattern for added character. Her rug is from Boutique Rugs and it’s called the Atira Area Rug. Let me also mention it’s pretty much the softest rug ever! She loves lounging on it with some pillows to do her homework or just relax.
Desk Area Details
Her desk stayed the same but we updated it with these wood and rattan knobs. Before we had a mirror there but we wanted to bring the eye up and add some shelves. I got both the shelves and pictures from Hobby Lobby. We added some simple decor and a plant of course!
I added a green chair to the desk and now she can use this space for homework or like a vanity.
Other Room Sources
I found these adorable waterfall green ottomans at Marshall’s and love how they look in her room. Love that they are small enough to move around for extra seating as well or as an ottoman for her rattan swing chair.
We switched the knobs out on the rest of her furniture and love the updated look! I kept this space simple with an ornate arched mirror and some hanging plants.
The key to achieving my daughter’s Boho room was to embrace a mix of colors, textures, and patterns. We had so much fun creating mood boards and finally getting the teen girl boho look that she loves!
