Small Space Mudroom Refresh

We are officially back in school, and I’m not sure how I feel about it. I am a little sad that those lazy days of summer are over, but the idea of routine sounds kinda refreshing. Today, I wasted no time getting to work while the kids were back at school and decided to give our small space mudroom a refresh. I’m calling this a space small because our “mudroom” is literally on a small wall off of the garage. Although the space is tiny, it might just be the most functional place in our entire home. We have a set of 4 cubbies there that were custom made for this space and it is the perfect solution for our small space mudroom.

Here it is, all cleaned out and ready for a new school year. Besides adding some fresh decor, I also cleaned out old shoes, dusted, and pitched all the junk that was collected here from summer. My kids can be such slobs. It just feels so good to start a new school year with a clean slate. I also shared a few tips on how we stay back to school organized that you can see HERE.

I also vacuumed out their shoe baskets and only putting back a couple of pairs that they wear. Nothing drives me crazier than a basket full of shoes with no matches. Am I right??

The top of the shelf got some fresh and faux succulents decor mixed with a few wood candlesticks. Love how the different size pots with greenery look layered on this piece.

When the kids got home from school, they loved seeing the new space all clean and ready for the school year. These little cubbies fit their backpack, lunchbox, homework, shoes, and anything else they might need perfectly.

See, you don’t need a large mudroom to keep you organized. All you need is a wall, a design, and someone to bring your idea life. I hope you enjoyed my small space mudroom refresh. I can’t even tell you how much better it looks all cleaned out. Now, hopefully we can keep it this way!
