Happy weekend guys!! I have been super busy around here getting my house back to normal, and doing what I always love to do in the new year which is a REFRESH!! The new year is actually my favorite time to decorate because it allows me to get a fresh and new perspective of my home. This year, I was taking down my Christmas decor and looked around my kitchen and decided it was in need of a refresh. I wanted to change so much, but focused on 3 simple ways to refresh my kitchen. Let’s start with the before. It was pretty, but I wanted a new look that matched my modern farmhouse eating area without spending a lot of money.

Kitchen Refresh Inspiration
Let’s be honest, Joanna Gaines killed every kitchen that she did on Fixer Upper, but there was just something about the Barndominium kitchen that I fell in love with. From the black and white backsplash to the pendant light, white cabintets, and wood tones, I LOVED IT ALL. That’s why this kitchen was the inspiration to my kitchen refresh. So, are you ready to see the reveal?
My Kitchen Refresh Reveal
New Barstools From Old Time Pottery
The first change that I wanted to make was getting new barstools. I bought my old ones at a yard sale after I moved in and really loved them, but it was time for a change. I decided to go to Old Time Pottery where the bar stool selection was amazing. They had bar stools for literally every style, but as soon as I spotted these grey fabric ones, I knew they were the ones. I loved the tufted details and black legs. They are also the softest barstools ever, just ask my kids! They are just so pretty and at such a reasonable price. I just love how well they complimented my kitchen!

New Pendant Lighting
The next step in my kitchen refresh was to find new and affordable pendant lights. I knew I wanted black metal pendants to match my kitchen eating area light fixture, and stumbled across these vintage black metal pendants. They added that modern farmhouse vibe that I was wanting in here, and they were so affordable too.
Faux Backsplash
Even though this was a kitchen refresh and not a full blown renovation, I knew I wanted to make a big impact. I decided my kitchen backsplash needed to change. Although it was pretty, it just isn’t my style. The longterm goal is to get a brand new backsplash, but I just needed a temporary fix for now. I stumbled across a product called Floor Pops. They are basically a peel and stick floor tile that attaches to the floor to cover old tile. I figured if it can cover a floor then it can for sure cover a backsplash.
After a couple hours of placing and cutting, I had a new backsplash. The pattern is called Comet and the black and white colors matched my kitchen perfectly! Want to hear the best part? This backsplash only cost me around $50!! Can you believe that?? It totally changed the look of my kitchen, and it was so simple to put on. This product really is amazing!
Overall, this kitchen refresh only cost me a few hundred dollars and it honestly feels like I have a brand new kitchen. I hope you enjoyed the tour of my new kitchen. Remember, you don’t have to spend a ton of money to get a brand new look in your kitchen. Just get creative and follow these steps to get a fun new kitchen look!! Thanks for stopping by today, friends!!

Carissa,
What a beautiful kitchen. It is amazing what a little change will do. I love the container on the island; if you don’t mind letting me know what it is. It looks like Copper but I’m not sure. I love the 3 Crocks you have in the corner of your stove area. I love what you have done; just a small change made such a big impact. I love the bar stools as well. Thanks for sharing all your changes with us. Keep up the good work. Thanks
