There’s nothing quite like crawling into a warm and inviting bed at the end of a long day. But if your bedroom doesn’t feel cozy and welcoming, it can be hard to relax and get a good night’s sleep. Whether you live in a small apartment or a sprawling house, there are plenty of simple ways to make your bedroom feel like a comforting retreat. From soft lighting to cozy accents, these tips will help you transform your space into the ultimate relaxation destination.
1. Area Rug Under The Bed
One sure way to add some cozy to your bedroom retreat is to add a rug under your bed. Whether you have carpet or hardwood, adding a large area rug instantly cozies up a space. A rug not only adds warmth to your room, but it also fills the space with texture and color. I gave my bedroom a refresh after the holidays and added this new rug. It is called the Bogtong Area Rug and it is so soft and adds a ton of character to my bedroom.
2. Add Soft Lighting
This tip is a no brainer but lamp light is the king of cozy. Add a couple of lamps that you love to your night stands and you instantly bring in cozy vibes with soft lighting vs bright overhead lights. My bed also offers a couple of dimmable reading lights that are perfect for late night reading. Dim lighting can make a room feel more intimate and cozy. Consider adding dimmable lamps or string lights to your bedroom.
3. Invest In Comfortable Bedding
Now that it’s the new year, it’s time to get your bed all nice and cozy just the way it’s supposed to be. My favorite bedding is Beddy’s Bedding with a minky underside. It is the coziest bedding I have found. We love it so much in this house that it is in every bedroom. You can see how it looks in each room HERE.
Layering pillows and adding a nice oversized throw at the end will give it an extra inviting and warm look.
4. Add Some Essential Oils And a Diffuser
Essential oils have a pleasant, uplifting scent that can help improve your mood and reduce feelings of stress and anxiety. They can also help you sleep at night. Young Living by far has my favorite essential oils! This diffuser is called the Desert Mist Diffuser, and I love it because it changes colors for a cozy feel. It offers 10 LED colored light options, including an alluring candle-like flickering mode that is a sure way to give your space a relaxing and calm feel.
It functions as a humidifier, atomizer, and aroma diffuser in one simple-to-use product. I always keep my favorite scents beside it for a quick way to make my room smell amazing while giving off the most cozy light for my bedroom. Get started with Young Living HERE.
5. Bring In Some Plants
Plants bring life to your space..literally. Not only do plants add a touch of greenery to your space, they can also improve air quality and add a calming presence. Adding plants to your bedroom is an easy way to bring warmth and color into your room. I prefer real plants for the most part but love to mix in a few of my favorite faux plants as well. If you are wondering how to get started with real plants, I shared my favorite real plants for beginners that you can check out.
By implementing just a few simple changes, you can turn your bedroom into a warm and welcoming space that you’ll look forward to spending time in. Whether you’re snuggling up with a good book or just catching some much-needed rest, a cozy bedroom is the perfect place to relax and unwind. So why wait?
