Our living room is all decked out for Christmas! This is the room that we have Christmas morning in, so I love to make our living room extra pretty and cozy. I love decorating for Christmas but I do not go out and buy new Christmas decor each year. I mean, who has the money or space for that? What I do like to do each year is find new ways to mix up what I have and maybe incorporate 1-3 new items so it feels fresh each year. This year, I went with neutral Christmas decor along with simple garland, gold accessories, and natural wood touches. I went with lots of whites and creams for my main colors and used pots, treys, and baskets that I already had to incorporate into my decor. Let’s start with this small console table behind our living room.
As you can see, this opening goes right into our living room. I found a fun way to divide the hall space using a round woven piece of wall decor. Now, this space acts as a console table to our living room sofa even though it is actually in our hallway.
I used a white pot to put a faux tree in and added my favorite natural trees to accessorize the table. I just love this simple look! Don’t be afraid to use coffee table books as risers to add interest and elevate your decor. This book, A Home to Share, by my friend Leslie Santa is one of my favorite coffee table books.
Living Room Christmas Mantel
My new living room rug was actually my inspiration for my Christmas decor this year. It is neutral with the main color being cream, so I wanted to make sure that I incorporated creams and whites into my decor.
My fireplace mantel is always my favorite space to decorate at Christmas. I love the challenge of taking different pieces of garland and stems and creating a layered look. This year, I used a mixture of faux cedar garland, eucalyptus, white berries, and pinecones to create a cascading effect on my mantel.
For a touch of gold, I added my favorite vintage candle sticks along with this cute wooden horse that is one of my favorite pieces of Christmas decor. Oh, and you can’t forget the fairy twinkle lights to finish off the look!
I found these adorable cream knit stocking and knew I had to have them! They were actually the only new Christmas item that I got this year, and I just love the fresh new look that they gave my mantel.
I added a velvet bow to each stocking to give them a little something extra.
The bells were a pretty way to bring in a touch of gold to the greenery. I just love how they look hanging down with the garland.
Living Room Christmas Tree
Overall, I keep my Christmas tree pretty neutral and simple. This year, I wanted whites and creams to be the main pop of color on the tree, so I added white glass balls and a cream ribbon that I already had. I fell in love with this white tree collar that I bought a few years ago and how it looks at the bottom of the tree.
I also used some bead garland, white berries, and dried eucalyptus so it could tie in with my DIY garland. My ornaments and ribbon came from Hobby Lobby along with my dried eucalyptus.

Neutral Christmas Decor
I carried the look of natural wood pieces and greenery onto my entertainment center. Aren’t these little wood houses so cute? I got at Target a few years ago and love how the look layered under my TV. They fit in perfectly with my neutral Christmas decor.
I finished off the wall behind the sofa with ribbon and small wreaths and attached them with push pins. It was a simple way to add some holiday cheer to this wall.
