Hey friends and happy Wednesday! Today I am talking all things laundry, and I’m so excited to share with you my laundry room and how I keep it organized and pretty at the same time. If you’ve been around for a while, you remember I shared my laundry room in a post a while back and showed you what my laundry room looked like when I moved into my home. It was pretty awful. I think a laundry room should be a pretty and functional space. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy, but I do believe it should be a place that makes you feel happy and relaxed. That was my goal when I started transforming my laundry room. I turned it into a room that I absolutely love. Today, I hope this post will motivate you to add a few pieces of decor or even get it a little bit more organized. Trust me, a little decor and organization goes a long way in a laundry room.
I’ll start with two items that I absolutely love. Aren’t these little brooms the cutest? I spotted them at Target this past weekend, and I knew exactly where they needed to go. They actually come in a set of three and would really look so cute anywhere in your home, but I happen to love them in my laundry room. The other piece of decor that I love is actually used for decor and organization. I use this galvanized tub to hold my detergent bottles. Detergent can get so messy so this tub just keeps everything looking cute but CLEAN.
Laundry Cart
One of my most frequently asked questions is about this laundry basket cart. Unfortunately I can’t link it because it was a thrift store find, but the good news is that you can recreate this idea and I highly recommend that you do. This was just an old wooden cart that I painted. I see similar carts like this all them time. It was the perfect solution to hold my laundry baskets. This is for sure a MUST HAVE.
This laundry cart is so cute and SO functional. It’s even on wheels which makes it even better. This cart could also easily be built too if you couldn’t find the size you are looking for. If you have room, I think you should have a laundry basket cart too!!
Laundry Drying Rack
My laundry room is a good size, but my problem was that I had nowhere to hang my clothes that needed to be dried. This hanging ladder was my solution. I just hung it on some studs and added some hooks from Hobby Lobby to the bottom. I consider this idea a cute piece of decor that is also super functional. This ladder was also a thrift store find, but you could also easily recreate this look in your laundry room with any type of ladder.
Open Shelving
These open shelves are a project that I did when I was making over my laundry room. I had an empty wall, so I thought this was a perfect space for shelves. They keep me so organized. I added baskets to hold cleaning and dog supplies, paint brushes, and pretty much anything that I need but want to keep hidden. I also added these cute clear jars for dog treats, dryer sheets, and clothes pins. See, you can stay organized and have cute decor too!!
It honestly doesn’t take much to make your laundry room cute and functional. This laundry room that I created makes this laundry hating girl so much happier now. Below I am adding some other pieces that I love for laundry rooms, so be sure to check that out too. My goal for this post was to motivate you to get excited about doing laundry and having a pretty space to do it in is a great start!
