Well, hello friends!! Welcome to our Easy Summer Styling Blog Hop! Thanks so much for joining me from My 100 Year Old Home . Isn’t Leslie’s home simply stunning? I’m so excited to be joining a few more talented pals (listed at the bottom of this post) on a fun and Easy Summer Styling Tour hosted by my sweet friend Kelly from The Tattered Pew.
Don’t you just love summer decor? I do simply because decorating for summer is simple and so fun! Today, I’m sharing 3 ways to add a touch of summer to your home. My inspiration for my summer home decor this year is vintage greenhouse. I just love the idea of my home having vintage pieces that give off a cozy, cottage, greenhouse feel. Here are a few ways I added the vintage greenhouse look to my home.
1. Botanical Prints
I believe it’s safe to say that I am obsessed with botanical prints, so when I spotted this gorgeous set at Chic Artique , I knew they had to come home with me. They are actually vintage inspired prints, but honestly, I couldn’t tell the difference. They fit perfectly on an old tobacco stick gate that I had, and I just love the added texture the gate added to these prints.
Adding real vintage or vintage inspired botanical prints is an instant way to add a touch of summer to your home. I even shared a fun DIY with botanical print posters . There are so many ways to achieve this look in your home for summer!
I also added this flower basket and greenery, also from Chic Artique, to my vintage church pew to finish off the look. Are you getting a vintage greenhouse vibe yet?
2. Clay Pots
Well, that brings me to my next favorite summer decor item which is…. clay pots. I love clay pots for two reasons. 1) They are super cheap. I have found most of my collection at yard sales. 2) They are perfect for decor. You can use them with or without plants inside of them, and they are still so beautiful either way. I also love how weather and age changes them and adds so much natural character to them. I could go on and on, but you get the idea. My recycled clay pots were a perfect (and cheap) way to kick off my summer decor in my kitchen.
I matched them with an old chippy shutter and a beautiful floral arrangement form Chic Artique. This basket resembles a bee hive which is also a perfect summer touch.
I sprinkled my clay pots throughout my home decor and added faux greenery to some and left some plain. These bring a great pop of color to my decor. I also added a smaller tobacco stick gate to give my mini wreaths a home.
Clay pots also look so pretty just stacked in various sizes!
3. Real or Faux Plants, Herbs, and Flowers
If you have been following me on Instagram or on my blog, you know that I LOVE decorating with faux flowers. I think a room isn’t really complete without some greenery. Well, I actually added some REAL plants this time. Fingers crossed that I can keep them alive, but for now, I love how they look on my entryway table.
I picked up this greenery on a pickin’ trip over the weekend. I paired them with this vintage inspired wire cloche which is also a fun way to display your greenery.
Real or faux, it doesn’t matter. Greenery is an instant way you can add a touch of summer to a space!
So, that my friends is how I added a fun touch of summer to my home. That’s it for my stop on the easy summer styling tour. Hopefully, you were inspired to get out those clay pots or add a little greenery or botanical prints to your home. Just have fun with your summer decor because after all, SUMMER IS FUN!!
Now it’s time to hop over to my friend Sarah from Dreaming Of Homemaking gorgeous home! Thanks so much for stopping by the blog!!

Carissa,
I just love your summer style tour.
The clay pots are a great idea and look great with the faux plants. I don’t have good light in my living room so am okay with the faux plants
I’m always inspired after visiting your blog and try to incorporate your ideas into my own
Thank you for your great styling ideas and helping me prepare my home for summer
Take care,
